With winter being the season of pleasures, we plan to spend Christmas 2019 treating ourselves to the finer things in life. And an evening spent eating delicious pies and drinking champagne with our girlfriends is worth it.
Cue Brown Thomas’ new afternoon tea package.
This week, the retailer on Grafton Street unveiled the most enchanting afternoon tea experience in The Restaurant by Johnnie Cooke.
Creating a replica of the iconic department store to display your range of mini dishes, celebrity chef Johnnie Cooke has created an afternoon tea that surpasses all others.
Savory bites include…
Irish tartlet with St Tola goat cheese, chicken gougères truffled with morels, black truffle and parmesan, coronation chicken served with red endive, raisins, almonds and mango and a ‘Brown Thomas Charmeuse’ – a buckwheat pancake served with Irish organic smoked salmon, chives, caviar and fresh cream.
A raspberry champagne macaron, a Sicilian lemon tart, a Catalan crème brûlée with Seville orange, cinnamon and bourbon vanilla and a ‘Brown Thomas Verrine’ – a creamy coconut, liquid raspberry, passion fruit mousse.
And let’s not forget the most important, in addition to tea and coffee, you can treat yourself to Veuve Clicquot bubbles or even a cocktail.
That’s what we like to hear.
The Brown Thomas Afternoon Tea Experience is now served daily with sessions at 3pm, 4pm and 5:15pm. At the price of €45 per person, book now until Thursday 19 December to take advantage of this wonderful festive package.
