Celebrating Spring with the Master Gardeners

The University of Nevada, Reno Extension Master Gardeners and Horticulture Team welcome you to our annual Spring Celebration and Educational Event. The public is invited to see what grows in our gardens, watch a rose show, learn gardening presentations from master gardeners and participate in a herbal tea tasting. Bring your gardening questions and wear comfortable shoes! This event features many stations in our demonstration and test gardens, highlighting many of our garden projects. Topics for stations and presentations include:

  • Iris and bulb gardening
  • Growing herbs in the desert
  • native plants
  • Growing and showing roses
  • Composting
  • Tree care

… and much more!

The event ends with a Mad Hatter Tea Party. Seats are limited, so buy your tickets in advance! All participants aged 5 and over must have a ticket to attend. Doors open at 9:30 a.m., event starts at 10 a.m.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. The master gardeners and extension staff are not responsible for supervising children present. Our botanical gardens contain potentially dangerous plants, including cacti, and members of the public enter our gardens at their own risk.
