Text description provided by the architects. The project we have designed is a tea room that specifically provides tea without pesticides. It is located in Hangzhou, China.

Hangzhou is one of the famous Long-jing tea producing areas. These rugged tea hills can be seen on the edge of West Lake. In these tea hills, many plots of terraced crops are scattered around the hills. Inspired by terraced fields, we thought we could integrate these large landscapes in this tea room in the design program.

The furniture designed for the tearoom resembles a display case that presents a feature of the local landscape. The materials we have used include Cinderella colored marble which is made in Italy, combined with wavy misty glass pane to create a separate cabinet, then group theirs with different height levels in display cases.

The diameter of the round table is designed in 6.2m. And the surface of the table was formed by the superposition of pieces of artificial marble, which presents a gradual fluctuation of terraced crops. then injected water into the groove on the surface of the table. With the different height level of the groove in the table, the color of the water is different. Since the project is located in the commercial and populated city, we are trying to use this remote design to allow people to have enough space.
